Kathleen ‘Tootsie’ Gasparini was the wife of hockey head coach Gino Gasparini.
She was a teacher by profession. Per reports, she died on February 16, 2022.
Many people referred to Gasparini as “Tootsie.” She worked as a health teacher in Grand Forks Public Schools for more than 40 years and regularly attended UND games, cheering for every sporting team.
In 2016, she was honored in the Grand Forks Public Schools Teachers Hall of Fame.

The cause of death of Gasparini has not been determined yet. She was said to have died unexpectedly on that very day.
Gino Gasparini, Kathleen’s husband guided the institution to three national titles in 1980, 1982, and 1987.
He was also a runner-up in 1979 and a third-place finisher in 1984. He is the program’s all-time winningest coach.
